![]() It seems BAD at the beginning, and it was when there are many enemies going around and you want to keep your distance. You know that arte that creates some kind of AoE around you that reaches super low and hits enemies around you. There is 1 particular arte that is broken late game, whish is the lightning shield you get early on. You will get tired of "Aaaaastral energy!!" "Say no more!!". He is the best partner for Rinwell, I would always put them together. Alphen boost strike will down an enemy, which can be used to make him stay there (under the high tier spell), to avoid being attacked by the enemy, and to get AG back and extend the combo. This is specially important for Rinwell, since she gains so much from making combos longer instead of starting all over again.Īnd then once you have that mastered, the question is to make the enemies stay on one place to wreak havoc on them. In Arise you should not save them for specific enemies, since they charge fast, it is perfectly fine to have Shionne shooting enemies on the ground just to get those AG back and proceed with more artes. It is very important to use constantly boost strikes just for the sake of extending combos. ![]() By combining holy lancex2 I have divine saber (light high tier).Ī nice combo would start with photons or splash charging, to start going, some autoattacks, then I would use those stored splashes for either a tidal wave or a shooting star, then maybe proceed to divine sabers (by now casting medium artes will be much faster), and then you can even go directly to the cyclones since very deep in the combo you cast them FAST. ![]() By combining splashx2 + holy lance I have shooting star (bad spell, but so cool). By storing 2x splash I have the icycles (water medium) and 3 times I have tidal wave (high tier water). For example, when I finished I used splash (water basic), holy lance (light medium) and cyclone (wind high tier). ![]() The key is that with those 3 spells binded I could cast 7 spells. From time to time or from dungeon to dungeon I would change those spells. I used her with 3 artes that were not spells (the photon cannon, the lightning shield and a jump-to-air) and 3 spells (a basic one, a medium one, and a high tier one). And you need to use artes that are not artes as well, that are quick to do so you can increase the combo easily and then proceed into spells that are fastened due to the skills you get that are key that lower casting time of spells inside a combo. You need to make use of the combination of spells to get new ones. Lategame she becomes a monster and nothing comes even close, in the last dungeon and boss she is god tier. Just remember that in Arise some characters are good or bad depending on the moment of the game and the enemies you encounter.Īt the beginning, Rinwell is very fun, but she is not so good. Change requires sacrifices, however, so I am even more interested than before to see if the removal of some of the series' staples will have been worth it.I mained Rinwell hard. As such, Tales of Arise feels like a proper step forward for the series, even though the low number of assignable Artes and the lack of a guard button do feel a little disorienting at first. While we still do not know how story and character interaction will develop in the game, as the preview version was rather light in this regard, the many tweaks introduced in the combat system do break this tradition somewhat. Having been a fan of the Tales series since Tales of Destiny, I am always eager to try out a new entry in the series, knowing well that I will find all those familiar elements that I have come to love over the years. You can learn more about the game by checking out my hands-on preview. Tales of Arise launches on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One on September 10th. During a new live stream, Bandai Namco will show some of the game's side activities like camping and fishing, skits, and much more. More information on Tales of Arise is coming next week. Accompanied by her faithful friend Hootle, she fights against Renan oppression in Cyslodia. Born in a family of Dahnan mages, Rinwell has the rare ability to cast elemental astral artes.
